Texas man arrested for Milton home invasion

Texas man arrested for Milton home invasion

MILTON, Ga. -- The suspect in a Milton home invasion may also be responsible for similar crimes in four other states.

Octavius Scott, 22, was taken into custody Dec. 11 by U.S. Marshals in his hometown of Houston, Texas.

Scott is the suspect in an Aug. 18 home invasion in Milton. The victim told police a man broke into her house, tied her to a chair and stole electronics, jewelry and money.

Milton Police Capt. Shawn McCarty said Scott is also wanted in connection with home invasions in Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Texas. Investigators believe he is the head of a home invasion ring that targets victims of Asian and Middle Eastern descent.

Trial begins for man accused of killing Milton teen

MILTON, Ga. -- Jury selection began this week in the trial of a 22-year-old man accused of gunning down a Milton teenager.

Richard Davidson is charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit armed robbery and weapons offenses in the death of 19-year-old Christopher Walker.

Trial is still pending for Davidson's co-defendants, Matthew Goins and Michael Grant.

Investigators said the three men spotted Walker at an Alpharetta Taco Bell and conspired to steal the gold chain he was wearing. They followed the victim to his Silhouette Court home and shot him dead in the driveway.

Police used Taco Bell surveillance video and tips from the public to track down the suspects.

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Each year during the first full week in May, the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) work to raise awareness of arson and provide individuals with strategies to combat it in their community. This year, Arson Awareness Week is May 4-10 and focuses on vehicle arson.

“Vehicle arson is a very serious matter,” said Chief Larry Few, Director of the Fulton County Fire Rescue Department. “The motivations behind the burning of vehicles are similar to those of other types of arson crimes. Fulton residents should learn ways they can prevent vehicle arson from happening to them.”

Motivations behind vehicle arson include, revenge, concealing another crime, excitement, insurance fraud/arson for profit and vandalism.

Milton man found guilty of killing stepson

MILTON, Ga. -- A Milton man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being found guilty of killing his teenage stepson.

Eric Brandon was convicted Wednesday of murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and firearm possession in the February 2012 death of 16-year-old Alexander Koser. He was sentenced to life plus five years in prison.

Alex's body was found Feb. 12, 2012 inside a townhouse on Genesis Way. He has been shot three times in the chest with a 12-gauge shotgun, which was recovered from the house.

Suspects arrested in Milton murder

Suspects arrested in Milton murder

MILTON, Ga. -- Milton police have arrested three men suspected of shooting and killing 19-year-old Christopher Walker on Mar. 12.

Richard Davidson, 20, of Roswell; Michael Grant, 23, of Roswell; and Matthew Goins, 20, of Alpharetta are being held without bond in the Fulton County Jail.

Walker was shot to death in the driveway of his home on Silhouette Court. Milton police said investigators believe the suspects spotted Walker's gold chain at an Alpharetta Taco Bell and decided to follow him home.

All three suspects face charges of murder, aggravated assault and attempted robbery. Davidson also faces two firearm possession charges.
