Body found in Forsyth County identified

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. -- Two deer hunters discovered the body of a woman in Forsyth County on Saturday.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Doug Rainwater said the body was found around noon near McFarland Parkway, west of Georgia 400. The remains had been in the woods for about two months.

Friday, the body was identified as that of 24-year-old Julia Miller of Douglasville. She was last seen in the area on Oct. 28, when she was involved in a shoplifting incident at a RaceTrac gas station, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. Police officers responding to the shoplifting call found Miller's car abandoned at a nearby industrial park, about 500 feet from where her remains were found.

Miller had not been reported missing by any family or friends, according to investigators. She had an active warrant out of Forsyth County.

An autopsy will determine Miller's cause of death. Police do not suspect foul play.
