Michael Merlin named to Barron’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors

ATLANTA, GA March 11, 2014– Morgan Stanley announced today that Michael Merlin, Managing Director, Financial Advisor, in the Firm’s Atlanta Wealth Management office, has been named to Barron’s list of America’s Top 1,200 Advisors: 2014 State-by-State.

The “Barron’s Top 1,200 Advisors” is a select group of individuals who are screened on a number of criteria. Among factors the survey takes into consideration are assets under management, revenue produced for the Firm and quality of service provided to clients.

Michael Merlin named to 'On Wall Street' magazine's Top Advisors Under 40

ATLANTA -- Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) today announced that Michael Merlin, an Executive Director, Financial Advisor in the Firm’s wealth management office in Atlanta, GA, has been named to On Wall Street Magazine’s 2013 listing of “Top 40 Advisors Under 40.”

This listing is a select group of individuals who are 39 years of age or younger, as of December 31, 2013. Individuals are recognized based on their trailing 12-month production (T-12) and assets under management (AUM) as of September 30, 2013. This listing also takes into consideration the overall business mix of practices and adherence to high standards of industry regulatory compliance. Investment performance is not a criterion.

Ara Baronian named Officer of the Year

MILTON, Ga. -- Milton Community Outreach Officer Ara Baronian has been named Officer of the Year for 2013.

A four-year Milton policeman and father of two, Baronian was chosen because of his work in raising more than $24,000 for the purchase of K-9 officer Kyro, plus his expansion of the Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) classes, Milton Police and Citizens Together (MPACT) neighborhood watch program and Citizens Police Academy (CPA).

Last year alone Baronian hosted 24 students in the 10-week academy, added six neighborhoods to MPACT, a 21 percent increase in participation, and taught more than 100 women and girls in six RAD classes.

And it's not stopping in 2013 - Baronian kicked off the new year with two more MPACT neighborhoods and three separate RAD classes for children, beginners and advanced users.

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Fulton County Commission Chairman, District 1, John H. Eaves received the Grady Champion Award during the 2nd Annual “Honoring Healthcare Champions Awards.”

Chairman Eaves was one of eight community leaders, medical professionals and non-profit executives honored by the Hospital Authority for their leadership in efforts to support Grady Hospital and build healthier communities.

The awards dinner followed the 2013 Health Summit, which brought governmental leaders and healthcare professionals together to discuss healthcare issues affecting Fulton and Dekalb counties.

The Healthcare Champions were honored for research, advocacy, donations and inspired leadership.  Standing with Chairman Eaves (center) were Pete Correll (left), Chairman of the Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation and Thomas Dortch, Chairman of the Fulton-Dekalb Hospital Authority Board of Trustees.

The outstanding Atlanta-area teens were recently honored with $1,100 scholarships and certificates of excellence. A TV special dedicated to their many accomplishments will air on 11Alive Saturday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m.
