North Fulton forms new relationships with U.K.

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- A Memorandum of Understanding to promote trade and direct foreign investment opportunities between the United Kingdom and North Atlanta has begun.

"The United Kingdom is and will remain a strong business partner for our region," said Brandon Beach, CEO of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce. "We have several major companies in our footprint which have ties to the United Kingdom and expect more. We have numerous companies in our region who have expressed to us their interest in expanding into the U.K. and Europe."

Jeremy Taylor, CEO of the Gatwick Diamond Business Association, entered into the Memorandum of Understanding with Beach.

The Gatwick Diamond Business District is located south of London and is centered on the Gatwick Airport.

MILTON, Ga. -- Milton's fourth annual Memorial Day Ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, May 30 at City Hall (13000 Deerfield Parkway, 30004).

This year's celebration includes performances from local country singer Kennedy Taylor and Cara McDermott, principal trumpet player of the Milton High School Band. Madison Landis, a student at Hopewell Middle School, will read her special Memorial Day essay.

New leaders named to four North Fulton schools

FULTON CO., Ga. -- New principals for four North Fulton schools were recently approved by the Fulton County school board.

"It's my privilege to announce this group of new leaders," said Superintendent Cindy Loe. "Their leadership has made their current schools stand out academically and I know they will do the same in their new posts."

Gamble may be new to the Fulton County School System, but she is no stranger to Sandy Springs -- as an assistant principal at Vanderlyn Elementary School in Dunwoody, she was only three miles away from Woodland.

Before coming to DeKalb County, Gamble began her teaching career in Florida, where she taught at a number of elementary schools.

ATLANTA -- Governor Nathan Deal has announced the names of 86 Georgia teachers who have earned "Master Teacher" certification.

This distinction is based on demonstrated excellence in student achievement and growth for 2011.

Keynote speaker named for 'Eggs & Enterprise' breakfast

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Brandon Beach, president and CEO of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, announced that John A. Bardis will be the keynote speaker for the Chamber's Eggs & Enterprise breakfast.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at Roswell's Doubletree Hotel (1075 Holcomb Bridge Road, 30076). It will be sponsored by Chamber members North Fulton Hospital and Verizon.

Bardis is chairman, president and CEO of MedAssets. He has served in his present capacity since the company's founding in June 1999.

Bardis has over 20 years experience in the healthcare industry.
