Over the 30 years of its existence, the WTCA has made numerous contributions to the growth and development of Atlanta as an international community. Milestones include: the institution of the Governor's International Awards to recognize international excellence, leading community support for the adoption of NAFTA; mobilizing  community support for Latin American free trade agreements; assisting U.S. Department of Commerce, Georgia Department of Economic Development and the District Export Council in creating one of the first Export Assistance Centers as a joint effort of state, federal and local governments; presenting many educational programs, providing WTCA members access to expertise and knowledge in the international business, economic, legal and accounting communities; hosting many bi-national and multi-national networking events, encouraging multi-national and multi-cultural networking opportunities…as well as many others.
